Langkawi Sky Bridge
This is a 125-metre curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in
Malaysia, completed in 2005. The bridge deck is located 660 metres above sea
level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang on Pulau Langkawi, the main island of
the Langkawi archipelago in Kedah.
This suspended bridge is built on top of the
Machinchang mountain. Accessible from the Top Station, the bridge is suspended
from a 82m high single pylon, hangs at about 100m above ground and it can
accommodate up to 250 people at the same time. It swings out over the landscape
to give visitors a unique spatial experience, and to bring them into otherwise
unattainable locations, above virgin jungle with spectacular views. Notably, in
contrast to a straight bridge, where the end is always monotonously in sight, a
curved bridge offers spectacularly changing perspective that reinvent
themselves, as one proceeds along it.
Hailed as the largest 3D art museum in Malaysia and second largest in the world, features more than 200 impressive artworks that appear almost lifelike when photographed.
A three-storey building with an exhibition space that covers 2,000 square metres, Langkawi Art in Paradise 3D Museum is divided into nine interactive zones including optical illusion, aquatic, safari, fantasy, classic, castles, landscapes, Egyptian, and Malaysian zones. There are more than 200 beautiful and meticulous artworks, all of which are hand-painted by 23 leading Korean artists in collaboration with talented local artists.
Presented in three-dimensional forms, many of these paintings seem to spill out from their framed canvases, offering a fun way for visitors to interact, photograph, and blend with the artworks. One of the highlights of the Langkawi Art in Paradise 3D Museum is the stunning panoramic painting of the gleaming Kuala Lumpur city skyline, featuring the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, Menara KL Tower, and Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
The massive Egyptian theme zone is another must-visit for memorable photo opportunities, where visitors are transported into the mystery-filled ancient civilization. Images of the majestic Sphinx, pyramids, and pharaohs are painted in great detail, and seem to come to life in photos.
Pantai Cenang
This is the busiest beach town on Langkawi Island, where you can find a diverse mix of cafes and restaurants, as well as souvenir shops, and duty-free outlets along its picturesque beach strip. Just a 10-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport, it’s a popular holiday destination for travelling families thanks to its kid-friendly attractions such as Underwater World Langkawi, Rice Garden Museum, and Kiki Club at Meritus Pelangi Resort & Spa.
Featuring white sands and clear waters, Pantai Cenang’s expansive beach is also great for sunbathing and exciting water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing. High-end resorts, chalets and budget hotels with views of the Andaman Sea are aplenty here, attracting throngs of locals, expats, backpackers, and foreign tourists. Pantai Cenang’s nightlife scene is the liveliest on Langkawi Island, with plenty of beachfront bars and lounges offering inexpensive alcohol and snacks, as well as live music and cultural performances until late.
